The Buddha's very life as a human being has given us all an inspiration and a model for the spiritual path and for making
our own lives a spiritual practice. The Buddhism that the Buddha gave us is humanistic, and Humanistic Buddhism is the
integrating of our spiritual practice into all aspects of our daily lives.
Today with the ardent support and contributions of the abbess, members and volunteers, IBPS of Ottawa provides everyone
with a place to practice and cultivate minds, willpower and wisdom. The objectives are to offer spiritual transformation
and liberation, and to create a Living Humanistic Buddhism in our families and societies. Currently, the temple is led
by Venerable Miao Tsun.
IBPS of Ottawa offers different Dharma preaching activities on a regular basis such as group practice, study group on
the sutras, invocation of Amitabha, penitential worship sessions, and meditation sessions. The temple also assists the
BLIA (Buddhist Light International Association) in organizing different activities such as the annual gathering of BLIA
members, the refuge taking ceremony, Buddhist matrimony and funeral and social welfare events.
All who support the temple and its objectives are welcome to IBPS of Ottawa events, and to become members.
